Demian who will turn 39 in November has added one more victorious fight to his current 6 win streak. By defeating Carlos Condit in the first round with a rear-naked choke submission, he just made himself one of the next UFC Welterweight champion title contenders.
Demian Maia is a pure Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighter, he won 3 of his last victorious fights by submission (rear-naked choke). Some say he would lack striking skills to become the next UFC Welterweight champion but he does not need them if he can bring the fight to the ground.
